You're listening to my Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1438.
00:00:03.919 --> 00:00:07.280
Today's Devo is called Direction for the Year Ahead.
00:00:07.280 --> 00:01:33.409
Hey there. We're the Alessi's, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning everybody and happy Wednesday. I hope you guys are having a wonderful day. My name is Rachelle Alessi and I am the host for this week. This is the second week of January and this week we're talking about new beginnings and with things that we are believing for this year. And so I want to ask you guys, in the comments on our Instagram or wherever you guys message us from, I would love to hear some of the things that you guys are planning for 2026. Share your resolutions, share your the things that you are believing for this year. We would love to read them, to pray over them. And as we are all believing for new things this year and walking in different areas, we're doing this together. And so how about I know I asked on Monday for you to share it with your spouse or your friends, your family or whoever, somebody that's your accountability person, whoever it is, just share the things you're believing for and speak in faith. But we also, your host, want to speak that in faith and be in it with you.
00:01:33.409 --> 00:02:06.180
So let us know, what are some of the things that you are believing for, what are the things that you're working towards this year? And. And let's go after them. Sometimes when we put it out there, it challenges us to keep going. And so let us know. We would love to, to read that. And let's get into today's devo and today is all about the direction for the year ahead. I love it because for me this becomes a little easier in the sense that at our church we always kind of have the word for the year and this year is actually the year of harvest.
00:02:06.180 --> 00:02:17.699
And I am so excited because it just made me focus on the things that I'm believing for will require seed and hopefully we see a harvest in it.
00:02:17.699 --> 00:02:21.979
But it brought direction to me and kind of where I wanted to go.
00:02:21.979 --> 00:02:56.090
And if you're part of the church, I so encourage you to connect to your church, connect to what your pastors are saying, to what your parents are saying, because it will bring direction to your life and a great, great focus. And that is so important for us to have. Because when you have a direction, you have a focus, you will have motivation to keep going. If we don't have a target to hit, we just kind of live a life of just wandering around and just letting each day go by. So, so important that we have a direction and something that we are working towards.
00:02:56.090 --> 00:03:30.539
So it keeps us motivated and it keeps us going. Especially if it's a word from the Lord to what he has for us this year and for us here at our church at Metro Life Church. It is a year harvest and we are believing for the Lord to just for miracles for the Lord to come through in many areas. And for me and my husband is we're trying. We sold our home. And as you guys may know, I am currently pregnant with my second baby and so I want to. We are believing for a new home. We want a bigger house where we can raise our children.
00:03:30.539 --> 00:04:26.050
And so there are so many other things and we are believing that it will be a harvest we'll see this year. And as I am writing some of those things down at the beginning of the year and trusting the Lord for some of those things, there is this verse that came to my mind that I've read in this podcast many, many times, but it was like I had read it for the first time. And it's Proverbs 3, 5, 6, and it says, trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he shall make your paths straight. This verse just reminded me and encouraged me to surrender my ways and my plans to the Lord and to really trust Him. Because right now, a simple example, our home is sold and we're trying to find our next home.
00:04:26.050 --> 00:04:28.970
We only have a couple of days left to find a house.
00:04:28.970 --> 00:04:37.300
And it's so easy for me to go quickly, to freak out, to be nervous, to even second guess.
00:04:37.300 --> 00:04:40.819
Why did we do this? Why did we sell our home?
00:04:40.819 --> 00:05:52.339
I only have four months left of this pregnancy in the Miami market. What are we going to find? How long is it going to take to remodel? And when you take a step of faith, when you have a direction you want to go to, there's always going to be a negative mind that wants to come, negative thoughts that want to cloud the decisions that you've made. But if you have written down what you're believing for and you have that direction for the year and you believe that it's from the Lord, then We need to now say, okay, we have to surrender all our ways and our plans to the Lord, and we have to trust him that if our leadership is saying, this is what we're believing for this year, that the Lord will come through, the Lord will create a miracle. The Lord will create a way when we don't see one, when we can't see what's next. The Lord will provide every step needed as we go along the way and as we continue to walk in faith. And I just love that with all of our heart we have to trust the Lord and, and that takes so much faith. But yesterday we read that great is Thy faithfulness.
00:05:52.339 --> 00:06:35.920
The Lord is faithful. So we get to be faithful and return to him and trust him because we know that he is faithful. So as we continue to step in everything that he has for us and walk in faith in return, we get his great faithfulness. And it's this beautiful exchange of walking with the Lord, and there's going to be hard days and there's going to be disappointments, but those things will not keep us from trusting the Lord with all of our heart and not leaning in our own understanding, in our own negative thinking, in what the market says or what other people say. When we know what the word of the Lord has spoken, we're going to go for it. That's going to be our direction.
00:06:35.920 --> 00:07:12.220
And so I encourage you guys, as I'm walking this out this year myself, that I'm going to trust the Lord with all my heart. And I'm not going to let the negative thoughts and the bad opinions keep me from what the Lord is calling me to. And that's going to take a lot of faith in my part, and it's going to take a lot of trust in my part to really trust the Lord. But I'm going to trust Him. I'm going to be faithful to him because I know that his faithfulness is great and the Lord will give us the desires of our heart and even better gifts than we could have thought.
00:07:12.220 --> 00:07:45.310
And honestly, guys, I can't wait to share our testimony on what the Lord provided. But as of right now, all I know is that he's faithful and I'm going to be faithful to Him. So let's pray today. Dear Father God, I want to thank you for your faithfulness. I want to thank you for your goodness, Father. We get to trust and the most faithful Father, the person who's never failed us, is yous, Lord. And so we get to put our trust in youn, our hearts fully. Rely on youn.
00:07:45.310 --> 00:08:12.410
We're not going to walk this year by reports and by what other people say. We're going to walk by what the Word of the Lord says. And we are going to be faithful to youo and to youo Word because we know that you make our paths straight. So all we need to do is follow you, follow your voice, and trust you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it.
