00:00:29.730 --> 00:01:02.969
Well, hello everybody, and happy October. This is your host, Gabby. And actually it is October 6th, which means this past Friday, I am officially Gabby Kladiud. So this is exciting as you guys are hearing from me, a newlywed. And as I speak, my fiance and I are on or now my husband and I. Wow, that, that's a change. My husband and I are on our honeymoon. So, yes, I did record these episodes before going on vacation, but I think you're going to be blessed by these. But yes, I'm officially married.
00:01:02.969 --> 00:02:21.199
We had an incredible, incredible wedding and just so blessed by all the responses and all the gifts and the celebration from everybody, even our My Morning Devo family. Thank you for reaching out and congratulating us. We are so blessed that our world is bigger because of you guys. So, so thank you so much. It is October, and now we're heading into the holiday season and spooky season and the fun season, and us girls got together and we thought about, you know, the theme for October. We read a lot of responses the last couple weeks. We've gotten a lot of feedback, which we really, really love your feedback and we're so grateful for it. And because of your feedback and what we feel like fits the theme or the, the season and the time that we're in, we wanted to go into a series of October called Overcoming October and talk about the different areas of our lives that we have to overcome, things that we have to overcome when it comes to being a believer. And so we're going to break down each week and there's going to be a different topic that each of us girls cover. We pray over, we discuss, we look in the word of God and see what the word says about these different areas. And we're going to talk about how to overcome these areas.
00:02:21.599 --> 00:03:01.710
Now what we don't want to talk about is the struggle. We don't want to focus on the issue. We want to focus on how to overcome that issue. So this week we are talking about the issue of fear, but how we overcome fear and we all know that we fight fear with faith. The way that we overcome our fear, the way that we overcome our doubt is through faith. And so with that, I want to read to you Hebrews 11. 1. And this is the basic of faith. This is when you look at yourself or when you ask the question, what is faith? This is it right here. It says this.
00:03:01.949 --> 00:03:43.199
Now, faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Faith is confidence in what we hope for and the assurance about what we do not see. I have a question for you. I have two questions for you. Number one, what are you hoping for? What's something in your life right now that you are praying for? What's something that you've been believing for, that you've asked God for? Is it about your marriage? Is it about your children? Is it about a sickness in your body? Is it about the state of our country, of our world? Is it about your church?
00:03:43.680 --> 00:04:30.720
Is it about the season that you're in? Is it about a spouse that you're praying for that God would bring you that thing? What is it that you are hoping for? And then secondly, I want to ask you this. What do you not see? What do you not see? You see, when it comes to faith, faith is coming to agreement with what we do not see. Faith is getting confident in the thing that we do not see. I want to say something right here because it doesn't say what we cannot, but it says what we do not, which means that there is an opportunity for us to see something greater than what's ahead of us. You know, it reminds me of. Of the song Waymaker. I love this song. When we sing it at church, people go crazy. I know. You probably love it, too.
00:04:30.720 --> 00:04:34.480
That's why it's. It was number one on the charts for. For months.
00:04:35.360 --> 00:05:15.480
Because the verse or the. The chorus says this. Even when I don't see it, you're working. Even when I don't feel it, you're working. See, this is such a great example of being assured or being sure about the things that we don't see. It's saying God. Even when I don't see it, I still know that you're working. You see, faith when it comes to. To being faithful, when it comes to having faith, we have to be confident and sure. We have to know that God is going to come through. Even though we can't see it. We have to know that God is going to come through for the things that we are hoping for and the things that we are praying. For.
00:05:16.199 --> 00:05:22.360
And you might say, well, Gabby, how do. How do I be confident about these things? How can I be sure that God's going to do it? Here's the thing.
00:05:22.839 --> 00:05:29.560
It's not saying that we need to be confident in ourselves or be sure about ourselves. It's being confident and sure about God.
00:05:30.199 --> 00:06:00.069
We need to be confident in God's power. We need to be confident of his plan. We need to be confident of his ways. You see, right now we're in a really difficult season or a trying time for our country and in our nation. There's been a lot of conflict in the last eight years. In the last 12 years, there's been a lot of conflict. And as a believer, you look around and you really start to think, God, is there ever going to be peace? Will there ever be an end to this conflict?
00:06:00.550 --> 00:06:34.379
Will two sides come together or will there at least be a middle ground? Can we at least come to agreement on one thing? And if we're not careful, we'll start to base our confidence on the status of the world and the current events of the world versus on our dependence on God. And this is where we have to switch as believers. Lord, a lot's going around. A lot's going on around us, Lord, this is what I see. But, God, I'm confident in your power. Lord, I'm confident in your plan. I'm confident in your way.
00:06:34.459 --> 00:07:29.399
And I am sure, God, that you can do it. I am sure that you can make it happen. God, I am sure. And I am confident that. God, you are a healer. Lord, I am confident that you call the prodigal sons home. I. I am confident that you designed marriage and you're going to help keep my marriage together. God, I am confident that you are able to do exceedingly, abundantly. Above all that I can ask, think or imagine. Lord, I don't think I can do it. But I serve you. And I serve a God that can. And that needs to be our prayer. That needs to be our posture. If we are struggling with fear, if you're struggling with doubt, be confident today. Step into that faith and be confident not in yourself, but be confident of the Lord. And be confident that God will do everything that he has promised to do. Father, we thank you that we can depend on you. Lord, without you, we have nothing.
00:07:29.720 --> 00:08:16.610
But because of you, we can have this faith that says, I'm going to be confident in things that I hope for and I can be assure of things that I do not. God, it will come through for us in the name of Jesus we call it out right now the prodigal is coming home. The marriage is going to not only stay together but will flourish and grow and be in its best days. In Jesus name we are healed from the crown of our head to the soles of our feet God we declare healing over our bodies God and we are just praying for our nation Lord that we believe your hand is still on us God Father you are still on the throne and we can can trust in you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen and Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
