Comfort In Loss

Comfort In Loss

What brings true comfort when we experience loss? In today’s episode, host Richelle Alessi invite us into a gentle exploration of finding peace and hope in seasons of grief. Together, we’ll reflect on the promise that God heals the brokenhearted and binds up our wounds, drawing wisdom and strength from Psalm 147. As a community, we’ll learn how to lean on God’s Word and presence when answers feel out of reach, discovering the assurance that even in our hardest moments, the Lord is near, understanding and caring for us beyond measure.

Join us as we come together in prayer and devotion, asking the Holy Spirit to comfort each of our hearts and guide us toward healing and renewed hope.

00:00:00.080 --> 00:00:21.039
You're listening to my morning Devotional podcast, episode 1376. Today's Devil is called Comfort in Loss. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:21.359 --> 00:00:58.259
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Good morning everybody and happy Monday. My name is Rachelle Alessi and I get to be with you guys this week. I get to be your host. I hope that you guys are really enjoying the Overcoming October as we all have taken a different week and a different theme and it's all about overcoming October. And if you, any of you guys saw our bonus episode with all my sisters in law, you probably would have seen even where this came from.

00:00:58.820 --> 00:01:06.500
And it was through this precious man who shared with us what he was going through with his wife and the loss of their daughter.

00:01:06.900 --> 00:01:32.900
And I just want to say to you, thank you for sharing it, but it just inspired these series because we want to make sure that we are providing things to help you guys and truly helps. And so this entire week really is coming from that. And my theme is comfort and loss. And what I think I love about this is that we all have experienced loss in our lives.

00:01:33.299 --> 00:01:47.299
And so this week I want to bring out Bible verses that all have to do with that. And my prayer is that you guys get to experience the Holy Spirit, the comforter in your lives in this season.

00:01:48.390 --> 00:02:33.509
And maybe you won't feel victorious right now, but the Lord is with you and he is exactly where you're at. He is with you and he sees you and he knows what you're feeling. And the Lord wants to be what you need. He is everything for us. He has everything that we need. And even in hard moments, sometimes we can feel like the Lord is the farthest because we really don't understand fully why things have happened. But, but I promise you, if you just lean in into His Word, you will still be able to find healing comfort and even not maybe a reason why, but you still be able to see the goodness of the Lord, which brings out a hope and a future.

00:02:34.150 --> 00:02:52.550
And it starts to even in that, heal our hearts and healing our souls. And I pray that this is what this week is for you, that you get to experience some type of healing through the word of God and that it helps you a little bit extra this week. And so today I want to read

00:02:52.550 --> 00:03:56.629
3. And it says, he heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He determines the number of the stars. He gives to all of them. Their name, Great is our Lord, and abundant in power. His understanding is beyond measure. You know, verse three is so encouraging to us that he heals the brokenhearted and he binds up their wounds. When we are experiencing loss, it does feel like a bleeding heart. It's like the pain, the depths of pain that you feel when you start to think about the person that you love that you lost and not being able to see them anymore. The pain that that brings to us. And any loss in our life, what we make, we get to experience, is almost like impossible to see. A day out of it or a future where you're like, how am I ever not going to feel this way?

00:03:56.949 --> 00:04:03.789
But I think the Lord in Psalms wrote this out for all of us who are going through that, because he knew we would need this.

00:04:03.789 --> 00:04:07.009
But the Lord promised to heal our broken heart.

00:04:07.569 --> 00:04:44.819
He promises to bind up our wounds. We just need to give them to the Lord. And I love that. After that, it says, after healing and after binding our wounds, he says he determines the number of the stars. He gives to all of them. Their name, great is our Lord, and abundant in power. His understanding is beyond measure. The Lord is good. And even in the hard moments, he wants to be there with you and he wants to heal you and he wants to comfort you and be what you need.

00:04:44.980 --> 00:04:48.420
He's not just saying, come on, feel good again, feel good again.

00:04:48.740 --> 00:04:52.420
No, he's saying, I'm going to take care of you through this season.

00:04:53.060 --> 00:04:55.699
And in the meantime, just remember who I am.

00:04:56.910 --> 00:05:33.420
Just let's get through it together. But remember who I am, how great and abundant in power he is, how he names the stars, how he is great in understanding. And you know, guys, when we can't understand, we just have to remember this verse that great is our Lord, abundant in power, and his understanding is beyond measure. So if you don't understand right now, just know that the Lord's understanding is beyond measure, which means you can lean on him, you can trust Him.

00:05:33.899 --> 00:06:00.079
He knows it all. And just like a parent, when you know things that your kids don't know and that you know, one day they'll understand, in the meantime, you know, the kids are safe with you. It's the same thing with the Lord. We might not understand right now. And he's not calling you to just get over it. He's saying, I want to heal you, I want to be with you, but also just remember who I am in the middle of it. I'm going to be with you through it all.

00:06:00.240 --> 00:06:44.850
And so guys, let's pray this morning. Father, I pray for every single listener listening today, anybody that is experiencing loss, Father, I pray, Lord, that the whole comforting spirit will come and be with them and their family. Lord, they don't need to understand why, but what they need to know is that you want to be with them and you want to heal them and bind up their wounds, Father. And that we just have to remember who you are, that you're great in power, that you have all the understanding. So we are safe in your wings, Father, we bring all our loss, we bring all our hurt and all of our doubt to you. We lay it down at your feet because we want to be open to receiving, receive your comfort.

00:06:45.810 --> 00:06:49.009
We want to be open, Lord, to receive your comfort.

00:06:49.490 --> 00:07:23.500
Father, you hold the power of healing over our hearts. And I just pray, Father, that the listeners, families will start experiencing healing through the Holy Spirit in their hearts, Lord, that they can even start experiencing some peace in the midst of all their hurt because you are with them and your word says that you will heal their hearts and their broken hearts. So Father, we hold on to your word today. Let your word be the thing that gets us through the day today.

00:07:24.060 --> 00:07:54.259
And I just pray these verses over them, Lord, to know that you're there to heal them and to walk this with them, but also for us to remember how great you are. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it, your five minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in Today we pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
