You're listening to my Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1377. Today's TiVo is called Blessed Are those who Mourn. Hey there.

00:00:10.400 --> 00:02:24.680
We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning everybody and happy Tuesday. My name is Rachelle Alessi, and I just want to thank you all for tuning in today. And I pray that this series that we're doing in October, overcoming October, is a blessing to you and your family's life. And so we are going to continue this week on the theme of comfort in loss. And I'm believing that all these verses will bring some healing to your hearts, to your lives, and that they will just be something that helps you guys not just get through, but truly find a comfort and a new level of healing in your life. Because that's what the word of God can do. And that is the one thing that we can hold on to, knowing that it's true, which is the word of God. And so today I'm actually going to be reading a verse that's straight from Jesus's like, mouth. Like, this is something that Jesus said. And I've read this verse multiple times because it's known in the Bible and It's from Matthew 5. And I think a lot of us have heard the Beatitudes and the story of Jesus delivering the Sermon on the Mount. And what caught my attention about this was that as we start to read, you see the title, I hope that you guys can open up your Bibles at some point today and see this. But starts with the Sermon on the Mount. You have verse one that sets the tone, that explains to you the crowds, where they were and how they sat, and then immediately it goes into the Beatitudes. And the fourth verse of the Beatitudes is this. So this is Matthew 5, verse 4. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

00:02:26.759 --> 00:03:05.669
I so now see how much the Lord cares for those who are in mourning. The Lord in this Beatitudes, he didn't start with a ton of different things and then said, well, if you're hurting, here's some other things. This is actually the second Beatitude example that he gives. The first one is, blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. And the second one is, blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Guys, the Lord cares. He cares for you.

00:03:05.990 --> 00:03:09.509
And he said, blessed are those who mourn.

00:03:10.900 --> 00:03:38.909
I know that sometimes in the middle of pain, we don't feel like we're blessed, But Jesus words were, Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. The Lord will comfort you in whatever way you need. The Lord will comfort your family in whatever way you need. The Lord is with you. He cares for you. So give it all to him.

00:03:39.870 --> 00:03:58.150
Sometimes, especially if we've been Christians our entire lives, it's so hard to be just fully honest, because we know we have to get to the place where, like, we trust the Lord, we trust the Lord. We might not understand when we trust the Lord. And yes, that's our attitude of always getting to the place where we know.

00:03:58.150 --> 00:05:01.379
We praise the Lord no matter what because his plans and his ways are higher. But Jesus here says that those who mourn will be comforted. So today, hold on to that and know that in hard moments, when you really are in mourning and you don't feel great, and it's even harder when you have other family members going through the same, and you might feel like you need to be strong for them, know that the Holy Spirit can comfort you. And in that, you can even bring comfort to others. The Lord cares, and he's not just sitting, not saying anything or not caring. He is very involved in what you are feeling, and he wants to be your comforter. There are so many verses. And this is the beautiful thing about this week, where we're going to see how the Lord cares and that he wants to help us get through it and how he wants to heal our hearts. He wants to mend our hearts and our families.

00:05:01.779 --> 00:05:31.139
He wants that for us. But in the moment, it says, blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Know that the Holy Spirit will comfort you in whatever way you need. I cannot tell you how only the Holy Spirit will know exactly what you need. But hold on to that today. Believe that deep and wholeheartedly that the Lord will comfort you. And you will see that God knows you better than you could ever imagine.

00:05:32.180 --> 00:05:39.779
And so let's pray this morning. Father. God, I want to thank you for your words, for the words that you spoke that day.

00:05:40.019 --> 00:05:47.220
The blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Father, this is something that we can hold on to because you said it.

00:05:47.459 --> 00:06:24.750
And we know that everything you say is true and has always been true. Father, your Words have the power of healing, Lord, your spirit has the power to heal our hearts. So I just pray that this morning this is a verse we will hold on to that we believe wholeheartedly that is ingrained in us. That we believe that the Lord will comfort us because we know you are good and that you will find ways and bring the right people or maybe just your spirit will be with us and that will be enough.

00:06:25.230 --> 00:07:25.129
But as we comfort your comfort Father, we can even comfort others and help those around us as well. And so Father, I just pray a special blessing over our listeners today. Give them strength, give them vision, give them hope. Hope to see that you are with them right now, but that you have a future for them that is blessed because you love them and you don't want them living just in the right now, you want to help them right now, but that you have more for them in years and in seasons to come. And that if they just allow you to be their full comfort and their full healer, they could start seeing and experiencing healing, but also seeing the future that's full of life and blessing that you have for them because that's the life that you truly want for them.

00:07:25.529 --> 00:07:51.730
Lord, you are a good father and you know how to give good gift to your children. So even in the middle of not understanding, we know how good you are and we put a full trust in you, knowing that you will heal us and that you will comfort us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today.
