00:00:00.160 --> 00:00:31.519
You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1402. Today's Devo is called Better Than Lysol. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning, everybody. Happy Tuesday.

00:00:31.920 --> 00:00:46.640
Stephanie here. And we are going to continue in our topic of what we are grateful for when it comes to the days ahead, that we don't have to look back, but we can look forward. God is constantly doing something new.

00:00:47.359 --> 00:01:32.000
2 in the ESV version, and it says, do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind that by testing, you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Amen. And I'm so grateful that we get to have this connection, this friendship to the best counselor, therapist, and coach in the world, and that is Jesus Christ. It's like someone gave me access to the best house cleaner in the entire world. That's why I say it's better than Lysol. Jesus is better than Lysol. Although I don't use Lysol. I use my clean, organic products. Holla.

00:01:32.400 --> 00:02:20.759
Because, you know, Jesus, he wants to be your friend, but he also wants you to tap into the benefits of this friendship. I have a friend. Her name is Annie. She is the bomb. And this girl, she's a stylist. She's very much into all things esthetic, li pleasing and just style and fashion and decor. She's amazing at it. And she has some of the best clothes out of all of the people I know. And she tells me all the time, steph, do you like my outfit? You can borrow it. You can borrow it. And of course, when people say that out of kindness, it's like, okay, yeah, sure, whatever. But I'm not going to ask you for your clothes. But my friend Annie legitimately gets mad at me if I don't take advantage of that. She tells me all the time, please use my clothes. So I have.

00:02:20.759 --> 00:02:46.060
Whenever we have a big event, I'll ask Annie, can I borrow this dress? And the first person there, yep, here's my dress. Take it. She loves when I. I take advantage of the gifts that she's given me to better Myself, she wants me to dress nice. She knows she has really good clothes and, and she wants me to look my best. So she wants me to go out of my way and to ask her to borrow her clothes.

00:02:46.219 --> 00:03:33.310
And it's the same with Jesus. Jesus wants you to use the Holy Spirit, which is his gift to us, to renew our mind and heart. We do not have to live tripped up. We are not meant to live in anxiety or confusion. So just ask the Holy Spirit to heal you and help you and watch how he intervenes. You know, something that I've started to do and it has changed the game. In my thought life, I cover all of my thoughts with scripture. So if you have a fear of the future, if you have a fear of your children, if you have a fear of parenting, if you have a fear of not finding someone to marry, if you have a fear or any negative thoughts towards yourself, write those all down and then speak over them.

00:03:33.780 --> 00:03:48.419
Scripture, only the word of God. Not mantras, not motivational words, but scripture. And say that for the next seven days and watch how your thought life changes. That is access, guys.

00:03:48.659 --> 00:04:10.590
That's a gift that Jesus has given us and for that I'm grateful. I'm grateful that we almost have this magic trick called the Bible and the Holy Spirit working together in us to transform ourselves and to renew our minds. And I'm also grateful that when we all go to heaven, we will be made perfect with Jesus.

00:04:10.990 --> 00:04:21.709
Our sicknesses will be gone, our earthly treasures and all of our hangups will be vanished and we just get to worship him. And for that I'm grateful.

00:04:22.029 --> 00:04:33.509
Let's pray. God, thank you so much that you've given us the freedom. You've given us the tools to transform our minds and to renew all of our thoughts.

00:04:33.829 --> 00:05:07.598
God, not everybody knows how to tap into that. Not everybody even knows that we have access to that. So God, thank you for making it known to us. And we pray that any negative thought we have in our mind today we will cover with scripture. We will cover with your truth, Jesus, which always wins. Your truth is the victor, not our motivational words, not our mantras, but your truth. So we stand on it and we trust in it and we believe in it. And in Jesus name we pray. Amen.

00:05:08.319 --> 00:05:29.279
