You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1293. Today's Devo is called Believe for It.

00:00:07.599 --> 00:00:59.060
Hey there. We're the Aleskies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Well, good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Whenever you're listening to this podcast, my name is Gabby. I've been your host for the week and I'm joined with my mom on the podcast. And, mom, these episodes have been killer. I think so. And it's just about to get good. It's just about to get good. We hope you've been enjoying it. And yes, at the end of this week, we will have a bonus episode for the letter T, because that's a really good one. Also, I just want to mention we're both a little sick. So if you hear it in our voices, forgive us.

00:00:59.060 --> 00:01:21.900
And we are recording at home. So if you hear a dog or if you hear a door open or the alarm, say, front door open, please forgive us. We are recording at home. But let's jump into today's devo. This is going to be a really, really good one. Yesterday we talked about understanding Mom. What are we hitting today? The letter B.

00:01:22.939 --> 00:01:30.290
B for believe. Believe that God will keep his word and will keep his promises. Hebrews

00:01:30.290 --> 00:01:33.890
6 tells us, without faith, it is impossible to please God.

00:01:34.209 --> 00:02:27.349
So if you are in a season that you're having to submit to God, a season of delay. That's what we're talking about all week. You've got to first establish that this season of delay is for a reason. Yes. You gotta trust the Lord. You have to believe that God will keep his word. Yes. Because when you get to be three letters in, you're going to get tired of waiting. And it's always good to have these scripture verses in your arsenal to say, okay, without faith, it's impossible to please God. I want to stay in a place where I know God's pleased with me. I got to have faith for one more day. I got to have faith again to believe that God's going to do it. And even when we're weary in our faith, Gabby, God knows that he knows everything about us. When we hit missed the mark, when we hit the mark, when you know he loves us more than we could even have Faith in him. It's so true. His love is greater for us.

00:02:28.150 --> 00:02:31.830
We know that God's grace. He loves us, he covers us.

00:02:31.990 --> 00:02:39.349
And all we have to do is just believe that God will keep his word. It's so true. He will. He's faithful.

00:02:39.349 --> 00:02:46.280
He doesn't dangle a carrot, and right as you go to grab it, yank it back. He's not cruel, he's not unloving.

00:02:46.599 --> 00:02:50.199
He's not playing games. And you know what? He's not even testing you. Yep.

00:02:50.759 --> 00:02:57.719
He loves you. Yes. But he's allowing you to go through a season where your faith is tested, your faith is. And your faith is also stretched.

00:02:57.719 --> 00:03:08.039
Yeah, that's it. That's absolutely right. He's with you in the most difficult days. Yes. The Bible says that he is closer to the brokenhearted than ever before.

00:03:08.680 --> 00:03:16.289
So when you're really going through it and you think, how much longer, God? When am I gonna turn the corner? I've done it.

00:03:16.289 --> 00:03:59.050
All right. You've gotta stay in there, keep the faith, keep believing, and know that God is a God of his words. Amen. That's the character of God that we learn by going through the season of submitting. You know, this reminds me of. Cause you said that phrase, God doesn't dangle a carrot. And I think people see and. And it reminds me of the story that we have friends of ours, that they were house searching, they were house hunting. And there was a moment where they kept looking for houses. Nothing was opening, nothing was working out. They didn't really like them. It was similar to what everybody experiences when you're house hunting, where you like the kitchen in one, you hate the bathrooms. It's terrible. So hard. It's so hard. You love the bedrooms, but you despise the kitchen. Well, they were in that moment.

00:03:59.689 --> 00:04:56.120
Well, one time they found, or at this moment, they found a gorgeous house that was way out of their reach and out of their price range. But there was a moment where it looked like the house was going to be available to them. So they go the tour the house. It was stunning. They showed us videos and we were like, I think this is it. Oh, my gosh. And they had heard there was a situation where the. The owners might want to negotiate and the price. And so they, all of a sudden, you could see their faith was just building and building and building. And one day to the next, the owner was like, I'm sorry, we can't negotiate with you guys. We need this or we need that. And it didn't work out for them. And there was a moment there that they could have believed that God was dangling a carrot. Right. But they chose to believe that God was using that experience to stretch their faith to look for more. That's right. Because after that house, they set their sights on houses that looked like that. Even higher than what they'd been looking at. It's like God lifted the lid of faith. Yes.

00:04:56.449 --> 00:06:11.560
And I think that's something as believers you can get caught in, especially if you tend to be a little bit more negative or frustrated easily. You think, well, why would God give me a good doctor's report if I found out the week after that wasn't the right report? Right. Well, I think we got to change our perspective and go, hold on. God's giving us an opportunity to believe his word. For our faith to be stretched. There is a house that can look like that in my price range. That's right. There is going to be a report that comes back from the doctors that's going to say, I am fully healed. I just gotta believe it. So change your perspective of God's dangling a carrot and he's cruel to. God's giving me a picture of what's going to happen and he needs me to stretch my faith to believe for it. And that's so awesome. And he's giving you another exchange here. What you believe about yourself, about your life, about where your ceiling is. Yes. And what God believes about you. Amen. You gotta. You have to exchange that. This is the trade off in this submitting season. And we believe in ourselves, but it keeps us limited. We believe in God and he can do anything and he can do all things. It's an unlimited resource and supply. And guess what happened with them? The house they eventually moved into was on a lake. Thank you.

00:06:12.759 --> 00:06:27.420
On a lake in Miami. I mean, come on, you don't have that. There are no lake houses here. If you don't live in Florida or Miami, not even Florida, if you don't live in Miami, you don't understand. That does not happen. But God took them through a season where they had to trust in him.

00:06:27.420 --> 00:06:46.339
They had to surrender. They had to seek his understanding and they had to believe. And God came through for them. And he's going to come through for every single one of us who will submit to a season of waiting on Him. Amen. Mom, Pray us out. Lord, I thank you for your knowledge and for your truth.

00:06:46.660 --> 00:07:04.649
We thank you for who you are. You love us so much, so unconditionally, but you will allow us. You will take us through seasons of delay so that we can exchange our belief system for a godly belief system. It's happening right now in the hearts and in the minds of the listeners and we just thank you for it.

00:07:04.649 --> 00:07:08.050
In your mighty name we pray Amen and Amen. Amen.

00:07:08.689 --> 00:07:11.970
So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven.
