Lauren Alessi BurgosHello, everyone. My name is Lauren Burgos, and we are talking about change this week. How it can be a little difficult, how it can be fun, but it could also be challenging. And so Monday we talked about how with everything there's a season, a time to laugh, a time to dance, a time to weep, a time to mourn. Yesterday we talked about um forgetting the former things, not dwelling on the past, and seeing how the Lord is doing a new thing in us. Today we're talking about a time to wait. So if you'll notice, there's like a common theme. There's a time to grieve, a time to release, and now it's a time to wait, which all has to do with the Ecclesiastes verse that we sp spoke out of Monday in day one. So today we are reading out of Lamentations 3, 25 through 26, and it says this the Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him. It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. I want to reread that part right there. It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. We hear this a lot in the Bible about like, wait on the Lord, he shall renew your strength, trust in the Lord with all your heart. But it is nice to just see this so plainly written that there's like no way to override this verse or see another way it is written. It just says it is good to wait quietly for the for the Lord. There's no way you can misinterpret that. There's no other way to say that. It's so plainly written for us, there's only one way to perceive it. And I know I've fallen into the trap that I can usually think change happens like the moment my circumstances shift. So like I I want to see a miracle happen. Like as soon as I I want something to happen, it's gonna happen right away. As soon as I start praying for something from God, I want it to happen right away. And I think if you've been in the faith a long time, you know that's not the case. There are some people who are super lucky, and God bless those people. You know, those people that are like, there's women who've been praying for husbands for like years, and then there's that girl that comes to church like three Sundays and she prays the salvation prayer, and then she prays for her husband, and then she meets her husband. You're like, What? What prayer is she praying? Um, anyways, that that literally happens. I don't know how, but I'm just saying some people are extra blessed. Um, but I think the hardest part about change is a lot of times during change, God seems like he's not answering your prayers, and it is just a time to wait. And in a time of change, like, okay, yeah, I got my own house, doing my own thing, I'm living the best single life. Okay, I'm gonna get married soon because this is part of the change, and I'm gonna meet somebody soon. This is part of the change, and then boom, nothing happens, and you're not meeting anybody and the dating game sucks. Or you're thinking, like, okay, I just had another kid. So that means, like, you know, we're gonna find another house soon. It's gonna work out, and then boom, the house doesn't come. Or you're like, all right, I left my old job. I'm believing God for a better job, and and God's gonna open the door. I got it. And then boom, God doesn't open the door to a job, and nothing happens. Or and and like we can go on and on with examples. Like you're thinking, I got married, now I'm gonna get pregnant, and boom, you're not getting pregnant, and it's it's not happening, and you keep trying. And it's just discouraging because now you're just like, I just have to accept my fate. This is a time I've got to wait on God. There's no other way about it, no other way around it. And it's just that middle place of like, all right, I have to wait on the Lord. And I don't want to come in this episode yet with like, well, wait on the Lord and He shall renew your strength because we know that, and I've talked about that before. I just love how this verse lays it out, and I almost want to play it out like this episode is a waiting season in itself because when you're in a waiting season, there's not a lot of hope. You have to speak hope over yourself, but it's a lot of days of just like there is no hope. I'm not getting pregnant. There is no hope. I'm not meeting the one, and I'm getting older and I want to, and it's not happening. And you have to speak hope over yourself, but it's just like a dead end every turn. But I just love what this verse says. The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him. It's good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. It's good to wait on God. And if you're listening to this and you are like Lauren, you are preaching directly to me. I am in a waiting season. I'm just gonna let you know right now. I don't know when that waiting season's over, but here's what I know the season you're in right now, the Bible says it's good for you. The Bible says that it's good to hope in the Lord. It's you're in a good place right now. So please don't think you're less than anybody. Please don't think that you are behind. You're not behind because literally God looks at you and says, You're right where I need you to be. And actually, it's good to wait quietly for me. That's what the Lord is thinking about you. So I just want to encourage you, and we're gonna dive into trusting in God. We're gonna dive into hoping in God. But for right now, I just kind of want us to sit in this moment because that's what it feels like when you're waiting on God. And you're waiting to hear from him, and sometimes it feels like silence. But here's what we could take away today: it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. Let's pray. Dear God, I just pray right now for anybody under the sound of my voice who may be in a season or a time of waiting on you, God. Lord, I just want to pray right now, God, that you just surround them, Lord, with your peace and with your rest, God. And whether they're in a good season of waiting, God, like a happier end of waiting, and they just feel a lot of hope and joy, God, continue to give them that, Lord. Give them just like a longevity of hope that lasts them a long, long time, God. Or maybe they're just really, really struggling, Lord, in this season of waiting, God, to the point where they're like, I'm just done. I'm done praying. Lord, surround them, God, with angels, God. Surround their mind with angels, give them good thoughts and help them recognize it's good for them what they're going through. It's good for them to wait on the Lord, and they're gonna be grateful for it in the end. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
