Together, we’ll dive into the powerful message of Luke 12:48 – "To whom much is given, much will be required" – and reflect on how God entrusts us with greater influence and responsibility, not just for our own blessing, but to make a greater difference in the world around us.

Let’s discover how we can respond to God’s call with faithful stewardship instead of fear, nurturing the dreams and gifts He has placed within us.

You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1290. Today's Devo is called A Great Responsibility. Hey there. We're the Aleskies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:21.839 --> 00:00:32.679
That's why we partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Hello everyone, and happy Friday.

00:00:33.159 --> 00:00:51.079
We are at the last episode of my week, at least, and we're talking about being made for more, growing a higher capacity, becoming stronger. And I just pray it blesses you. I know, like just even being reminded of the Bible verses, it has blessed me. But today we're talking about a great responsibility.

00:00:51.880 --> 00:00:55.689
And I'll explain that a little more because our verse of the day is

00:00:55.689 --> 00:01:17.609
48, and it says this, to whom much is given, much will be required. And I was always told that, like, that's similar to the Spider man quote, with great power comes great responsibility. So that's why it's called a great responsibility. So I hope that makes sense. But yes, to whom much is given, much will be required. Luke

00:01:17.609 --> 00:02:09.430
48. And I think this is the perfect verse to sort of land this plane to bring this week in for a closing. Because God just doesn't want to expand our capacity and grow us just so we can be blessed, even though that is part of it. Because God wants us blessed, but it's not only so he can bless us. He wants us to have more, to expand our capacity so we can carry more responsibility, so we could serve well, even more people and make an even greater impact. Think about it from God's perspective. If we have big dreams, he grows our capacity, makes us stronger, blesses us with those big dreams. He's like, they can reach so much more people versus just staying small and having a lower capacity. That's what God wants for us. So think about it this way.

00:02:09.590 --> 00:02:23.090
Increased capacity is a calling. And maybe it's not for you. Maybe you're comfortable having a small capacity and not wanting to reach a ton of people and serve a ton of people. And there's nothing wrong with that.

00:02:23.090 --> 00:02:48.710
But I will say this. If you are feeling like you are made for more and you have a high capacity from God, know God's gonna require a lot from you. Because to whom much is given, much will be required. And it is a calling. With greater influence also comes greater accountability. So let's make sure that we're surrounding ourselves with good people. But also, if you feel that that is you, don't be afraid.

00:02:49.349 --> 00:02:52.710
God will never give you more than you can handle.

00:02:53.430 --> 00:03:02.550
I know you probably, if you're in a tough time right now, you're like, I don't want to hear that because this just feels like a lot more than I can handle. But guys, that's black and white. That's what the word of God says.

00:03:02.629 --> 00:03:35.530
God will never give you more than he equips you to handle. So apparently it's like yesterday's episode. God is looking at you going, you're actually stronger than you think you are. And you need to increase your weight or you need to increase your reps. And maybe that's not what you want to hear, but it's the truth. So if he's growing your capacity, it's because he's entrusting you with more. So I actually want to leave you with a few questions and it's something just to think about maybe this, this day, maybe this weekend, and that's this. What does much is required look like in your life right now?

00:03:36.469 --> 00:03:47.590
Maybe. Does that mean serving your church more? Does that mean serving your community more? Does that mean pouring into your unsaved loved ones and co workers a little bit more? But what does that look like?

00:03:48.629 --> 00:04:14.719
And second, how can you respond with stewardship instead of fear, instead of being scared of the higher capacity that God wants to pour into you and put inside of you? How can you steward that gift? How can you steward that dream? And by steward, it doesn't just mean, oh, make it happen. And also, okay, just be ready for it, but also treat it well, steward it. Be a good steward of it.

00:04:14.719 --> 00:04:28.300
Take care of it. Take care of that dream, take care of that gift, take care of the time that comes along with it. So how can you respond with stewardship instead of fear? So I pray that that has blessed you because with great power comes great responsibility.

00:04:29.100 --> 00:04:32.860
But let's pray. Lord, we thank you for trusting us with more.

00:04:33.180 --> 00:05:20.550
Lord, we thank you overall for just making us for more. And you don't want us to settle for less, God, you want us to have more in a higher capacity. Lord, help us not to shrink back from responsibility, but to walk in it with faith. Lord, we know that you will supply every need for the calling you have placed on our lives. And. And Lord, I just pray right now for every person who maybe doesn't necessarily believe that God, we just pray that they have the belief to believe that you will supply every need for the calling that you've placed on their life. Lord, teach us to steward the gifts that you have given us with wisdom and courage. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today.
